Will you be at the wedding rehearsal?

Every effort is made by me to be at your rehearsal if my schedule allows.  It gives me an opportunity to introduce and visit with the families.  It also gives me a chance to review the wedding ceremony timeline to make sure I'm getting the best shots and that I'm not missing out on a last minute changes.  If I can't make the rehearsal, I will be in contact with your wedding coordinator and/or minister prior to the wedding to ensure that I am prepared for your wedding shoot.

Have you shot at my location before?  If not, how will you prepare?

You should have no worries here.  There is a good chance that I've been to your location before.  Even so, every venue is visited by me at the approximate time of the wedding to check out any tricky lighting and look at possible ideas for photos. It is part of a professional wedding photographer to scout out the location.

How much time is needed for wedding day photos?

The amount of time you devote to your wedding day photos will greatly enhance the ability of the photographer to capture your wedding moment forever. I will work with your schedule but here's a suggest one that will allow me adequate time to do the best job.

Preparation Shots – Duration 1 to 1.5 hours. Ideally I would want 30 minutes with the guys and 45 minutes or more with the Bride and friends/family with her.

Couples session – Duration: 1 hour. I highly suggest doing this before the ceremony in conjunction with a “first look.” That way you can enjoy the rest of your day without having to worry about taking too much time out for photo’s. Also this is when the makeup and hair are fresh. I'll set up a first look moment so it’ll still be a surprise when you see each other for the first time. Be sure to give us at least a full hour so we can capture the amazing shots you see in our portfolio.

Bridal Party Formals/Family– Duration: 1 hour (depending on the size of your groups). I will have  a list of pictures that you want with  everyone.  This will be discussed at a planning meeting a few days before the ceremony. It would be good to have someone designated from each side of the family that I can count on to help organize everyone and make sure they are available for their photos at the appointed time.  It would be helpful to have this group available for photos right before the ceremony.

It is my desire to have all photos completed in the wedding venue by at least 45 minutes prior to the service.

Will I get every image that you shoot?

No you won't. Duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery are deleted. For example, because I shoot with low apertures, sometimes I take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus. I don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the sharpest focus, so I spend hours doing that on my end.  With our expertise if processing thousands of images each year, I may eliminate ones that we feel are duplicates and only deliver the best one.

Will my photos be "touched up" when I receive them?

Yes, this is included in my pricing.  I spend a lot of time working to make sure that the photos that I've taken are the best they can be.  This will require a bit of adjustment after the photo is loaded into the computer.  Typical adjustments are sharpness, exposure, brightness, color correction, vignetting and noise reduction.  Some of these adjustments are for artistic purposes and some are to enhance the photo even more.  Remember all photos taken at a wedding are not in an controlled environment like a studio so some adjustments will be needed.

Will there be an online gallery so I can share the images with my family and friends?

The online gallery will usually be available for viewing around two weeks after the wedding.  The images will be given to you on a disc as well at that time.  Your license will allow only you and your parents to make as many prints as needed from those photos.  Family members can purchase personal prints from the website at reasonable pricing.
